The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has four main dungeons, here called Divine Beasts. These dungeons can be tackled in any order that you’d like. We gave our recommendation for the best order in this guide, and first up was Divine Beast Vah Ruta. To help you through it I prepared this walkthrough of the dungeon, which is likely the easiest you’ll run into in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Usually we write all of these steps out, but for Breath of the Wild I wanted to do a video guide. This one was recorded after completing the dungeon, so the puzzles have been reset a bit. My commentary should help you out though, and the result is an easier and quicker guide for you. The future Divine Beast walkthroughs will be a bit longer, mostly because the dungeons only get harder from here.
The key to understanding Divine Beast Vah Ruta is the trunk, which you can set to various positions. Water is spewing from the tip of the trunk, and you will need to use this to spin giant wheels, as well as get it into specific positions for you to jump on and off of the trunk. This is great info to keep in mind for future Divine Beast dungeons as well. This one is actually the one that gives you the most options, but it is far from the most complex.
We also have a guide for how to beat Waterblight Ganon, the final boss of Divine Beast Vah Ruta. Since we recorded the walkthrough after completing the dungeon, we didn’t have video of the battle, so click above to check out that separate guide. Let us know in the comments if you have any other Breath of the Wild questions.
